What we believe
What we believe matters, so here is a brief summary of the central beliefs of our church.
We believe in…
Jesus
See John 3:16, John 20:30, Philippians 2:6-11, 1 Timothy 2:5-6
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and God - the eternal Son of God who became flesh, died for our sins, and then was raised to life forevermore. We live to worship him, obey him and delight in him. Everything we do is about Jesus, for Jesus and with Jesus!
As followers of Jesus, we also hold the following three values as essential to who we are:
The authority of the Bible
See Colossians 1:25, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 & 2 Timothy 4:1-5
We love the Bible. We believe in the absolute truthfulness, sufficiency and final authority of Scripture, and that the bible must have the final word in our church life and our individual walks with Jesus.
And we believe that the Bible, from beginning to end, points to Jesus. Therefore we seek to preach the gospel week in and week out as we open Scripture together, expecting God to change us by his Spirit as we submit to his word.

The grace of God
See Ephesians 2:8-10, Acts 11:23 & Colossians 1:6b
God’s grace is at the heart of the gospel and affects everything we do! Our salvation is a work of God from start to finish. We were dead in our sin, but God saved us by the blood of Jesus so that we now might live as his children.
We want to be a people who live in the freedom of God’s grace, and worship him for it with our whole lives.

The ongoing work of the Spirit
See Ephesians 5:18, Acts 1:7-8, Galatians 3:1-5 & 1 Cor 12:1,4-7
We believe that the Holy Spirit enables us to live the new life Jesus has won for us. We believe every follower of Jesus should be filled, and continually filled, with the Spirit as God empowers us for Christian life and witness. We also believe that all the gifts of the Spirit (as seen in scripture) are available today and should be sought for the building up of the local church and extending of God’s Kingdom.

Affirmations
We hold to the core values of Relational Mission, the family of churches we are part of.
We also affirm the Evangelical Alliance’s Basis of Faith.
Along with all Christians worldwide, we believe and confess the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
