Our leaders
At Life Church we are looking to build church the way they did it in the Bible. In the New Testament there were two types of leadership within the church.
First, there were elders (also called overseers or pastors) - men who were responsible for leading, teaching, caring for and protecting the church. Second, there were deacons - men and women who worked alongside the elders to help them, by serving and coordinating various aspects of church life.

Elders
Life Church has four elders. Paul and Luke work full-time for Life Church and Phil works part-time for Life Church.
LUKE SEARS
Luke and Beth moved to Peterborough at the start of 2022 when Luke began leading the eldership team. They moved from City Church Cambridge, where they split their time between youth work, software engineering (Luke) and nursing (Beth). Luke now works full time for the church, overseeing its day-to-day life, and loves taking every opportunity to open the Bible with others, letting God’s truth shape us. Beth and Luke love walking side by side with others in the church family, supporting and being supported, teaching and being taught, as we all seek to follow Jesus. Beth also loves baking, and Luke loves eating cake!
SAM TUCKER
Sam and Susannah met at church and were married here in 2008. Sam is part of the preaching team and the couple have three children. Sam and Susannah are keen to see Life Church grow through people coming to know Christ and being added into the church community. Sam is a police officer and can often be spotted in uniform around the city. He enjoys football, rugby, and supporting The Posh. Susannah is now a full-time mum, having previously taught at a local primary school, and loves to bake.
PHIL BOWYER
Phil and Rachel have been in Peterborough since 2014, having previously been part of Revelation Church, London. Since being in Peterborough they have become parents to three lovely children and enjoy the fun and chaos of family life. Phil oversees midweek communities and Life Groups in the church. In their spare time Phil enjoys eating nice food, and playing occasional sport while Rachel enjoys teaching music and dancing with the kids in the kitchen.
PAUL GRAHAM
Paul is married to Hannah and they have two girls. They have been part of Life Church since 2012, having previously been part of a church in Stamford. Paul works full time for Life Church, working with the staff team, Trustees & volunteers. Hobbies include rugby, football, bad jokes and trying to learn random new skills. Hannah worked in magazine publishing and has transferred those skills to work for Life Church in communications. Both are passionate to see the church grow in the power of God; to witness people flourishing in their relationship with God and to help and encourage the vulnerable.
