Our Team

It takes a whole team of people to love and serve our church family, and we’d love to introduce you to a few of them.

Elders

In the New Testament there were two types of leadership within the church, elders and deacons. Elders (also called overseers or pastors in the bible) are a team of men who are responsible for leading, teaching, caring for and protecting the church.

Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-8, Hebrews 13:17, 1 Peter 5:2-4.

Luke Sears (elder) — Luke Sears

Luke and his wife Beth have lived in Peterborough since 2022 when they moved from Cambridge to be part of the church. They have two wonderful kids and they all love being part of the big Life Church family.
Luke leads the eldership team and loves investing his time into raising up leaders, opening God's word and eating his way through the many world cuisines on offer from church members and the city!

Paul Graham (elder) — Paul Graham

Paul is husband to Hannah, dad to two secondary aged girls and an unlikely dog-dad to Olive.
The Graham Family has been part of the church since 2013, enjoying serving in various ways and Paul is also employed as operations manager for the church.
Paul tries to bring joy through telling jokes (with mixed success) and has a reputation for enjoying pork pies!

Phil Bowyer (elder) — Phil Bowyer

Phil and Rachel moved to Peterborough in 2014. Their three lovely children were all born here and they love the fun and chaos of family life.
Phil oversees discipleship and Life Groups and also takes a lead in evangelism in the church.
They are currently pursuing a move to France, to be able to share the good news of Jesus there.

Sam Tucker (elder) — Sam Tucker

Sam has been part of the eldership team for over a decade and part of the church from his teenage years. In fact, he met his wife, Susannah, at church! They were married in 2008 and have three wonderful children.
Sam and Susannah love seeing new people added into the church community and finding their place.
Sam enjoys football, rugby, and (sometimes enjoys) supporting The Posh!

Deacons

Deacons serve the church family, providing care to areas of real importance. The bible says that deacons are to be men or women who have godly character, are known among the church and are gifted to serve in their role.
